Can a Bounce House Go on a Driveway? Yes — Here's What to Know

Good news — bounce houses can absolutely be set up on driveways! The Dunk Tank Company regularly delivers and sets up inflatables on driveways throughout Genesee and Lapeer Counties. Here's what to consider before booking.

Is a Driveway a Good Surface?

Driveways — whether concrete or asphalt — work well as a base surface for bounce houses. The flat, stable surface actually makes setup easier in many cases. The key adjustments are anchoring (sandbags instead of stakes) and ensuring there's enough clear space around the unit.

Driveway Setup Requirements

  • Space: Most standard bounce houses need at least 15x15 feet of clear flat space — measure your driveway before booking
  • Clearance: Add 3-4 feet of buffer on all sides for safe access and exits
  • Overhead: No low-hanging wires, branches, or roof overhangs within the bounce zone
  • Access: Our delivery vehicle needs to be able to reach the setup area — let us know if access is tight
  • Power: A standard 110V outlet within 100 feet is required — we bring extension cords

We Handle Anchoring on Driveways

Our team uses sandbags to securely anchor the inflatable on hard surfaces. We place a tarp or ground cover under the unit to protect both the inflatable and your driveway surface.
